The castle, not where the actual king lives, just an extra one they have just in case.

arte de ALICANTE

silly things in spain

this is:me in a GIANT chair. Its one of the living art things here. (art is everywhere i love it i love it). Theeen, i am doing the Bewitched Pose on a cannon.
Also, this is my mailbox and the guernica again...eand...yep.

Graffiti Alicante

There is Graffiti everywhere, and I love it. All the really sweet stuff I havent take pictures of yet, but this is some that I just saw today that i liked. Also, Pablo Picasso's Guernica (one of his most famos paintings) done in spraypaint on the wall by the bus stop. Really amazing.

Just for Mom

This is the long dark scary tunnel that I walk down by myself at night all alone. Well not all alone, sometimes there is a man selling things out of his jacket. I guess its candy.

Americans!

Emily, Jill and I went out together and ate Piaju..pie-a-uh....i dont know how you spell it...but anyway, its this spanish dish where they put every sea creature they can catch in a big pot with rice. Its like gumbo without the spices. (I'm not a big fan. Obviously they still haven't worked outh that whole spice trade thing with the East Indies....cause Columbus never made it all the way there. I think thats why the food is bland.) But it looked really cool when they brought it out cause it had two lobsters holding hands, or claws i guess, and then like a sunflower design of shrimp and muscles (clams)...and there is the mystery seafood under all the rice. I think it was probably calamari, or maybe octopus, or it could have been Nemo, is he still missing? Anway after enough sangria even the pie-a-uh starting tasting great. hihi so here are pics from our litte american dinner time....also a picture of a McDonald's BigMac Meal Deal poster. 9 freaking Euros!!! For a #1 from McDOnalds!!!! are you kidding me?!! By the way, i havent eaten there yet. HA! After we ate together, we went to a little Cafe by the port and had chocolate, chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream, chocolate sandwich, chocolate covered fruit, and later a chocolate tummy ache. mmmmm

This morning I went walking in the city and found lots of new things. There are so many elegant, old buildings. Its really cool to walk by buildings and on streets that just the bricks are older than the WHOLE United States. I went to church, (but i was late) so i just sat in the back. It was absolutely amazing...there were statues of Biblical characters all around the walls, the ceiling was SOOOO high and the whole building was painted with artwork. There was also a big BIG statue of Mary and she was crying REAL tears! At the end of the service lots of old people went to each of the statues and kissed the feet. It was very impressive. Tonight I can't decide if i want to go back to the church for a Festival of a Saint or if I want to go to the Bullfight here in Alicante. hmmmmm, tricky.
